By accessing or using SnapTrace ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
SnapTrace is a cloud-based service that analyzes Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Block Store (EBS) snapshots to identify data churn patterns, optimize backup strategies, and reduce storage costs.
The Service requires read-only access to your AWS account through IAM role assumption to collect metadata about your EBS volumes and snapshots.
3. Account Registration
You must provide accurate and complete registration information
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
You may not use another person's account without permission
One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account
4. AWS Account Access
By connecting your AWS account to SnapTrace:
You authorize us to assume the IAM role you create in your AWS account
You confirm you have authority to grant this access
You understand we will collect metadata about your EBS resources
You can revoke access at any time by deleting the IAM role
You are responsible for ensuring the IAM role permissions follow the principle of least privilege. Use our provided CloudFormation template for secure setup.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Attempt to reverse engineer any portion of the Service
Use the Service to transmit malware or malicious code
Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
Use the Service to collect data about other users
Exceed rate limits or circumvent usage restrictions
6. Subscription and Billing
Free Tier
The free tier includes limited functionality and is subject to usage restrictions as described on our pricing page.
Paid Subscriptions
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
No refunds for partial months of service
Downgrading may result in loss of features or data
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access continues until that date.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.
You retain ownership of your data
We will not sell your data to third parties
We may use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics
You can request data export or deletion at any time
8. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service:
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
We are not liable for downtime due to AWS outages
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features
Enterprise customers may have SLA guarantees under separate agreement
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by SnapTrace and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid in the past 12 months
We are not responsible for decisions made based on Service outputs
We are not liable for AWS charges resulting from Service usage
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SnapTrace, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:
Violation of these Terms
Non-payment of fees
Fraudulent or illegal activity
Extended period of inactivity
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data may be deleted after 30 days.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
